Why you can trust Maeve's name — accountability, not points.

Every author at VegasPokie earns a credibility tier from real, checkable work — deposit-tested audits, mediated player disputes and editorial sign-offs — never from posting volume. Here's where Maeve stands.

Four-eyes principle · No solo sign-offs
Rule: nothing publishes on one person's word

Who checks Maeve's work — and whose work she checks.

Every VegasPokie verdict passes through at least two specialists. Maeve gives the final editorial sign-off across the site — but her own calls are checked by our RG lead and tech lead. Accountability runs both ways.

About Maeve — and how she got here.

years in iGaming, five of them building VegasPokie's audit operation from a spreadsheet into the most rigorous casino-review process we know of in Australia.

About me

I came into this from the inside. Before VegasPokie I spent years as a compliance lead at Star Sydney, where I built the operator's internal complaint-resolution framework — which means I've sat on the other side of the table when a player can't get their money out, and I know exactly where casinos hide the bodies in their terms.

In early 2023 our founding team got burned by a Curaçao casino that refused to pay a $4,200 verified withdrawal. We registered VegasPokie on 21 February 2023 — that's the day this started. Today I set the audit rubric, personally sign off every Top 10 ranking change, and mediate the disputes that land in our inbox. If my name is under a review, I ran the audit — no anonymous "casino expert" voice, no AI filler.

Outside VegasPokie I'm an RG.org contributor and a regular speaker at the Australasian Gaming Expo, where I talk about player-protection and fair complaint handling.

My experience

My decade in the gaming sector spans regulation, operations and editorial. From the compliance desk at a tier-one Australian operator to leading a six-person review team, I've learned the industry from both the fine print and the player's seat. My areas of depth:

  • Bonus & wagering mechanics — how WR, max-bet clauses and game-weighting really work.
  • Payout & KYC processes — where withdrawals actually stall, and how to unstick them.
  • AU regulatory framework — the Interactive Gambling Act and what it means for offshore play.

What I bring to the table

  • Real-money testing. Every casino I list has been deposit-tested on a fresh AU IP — never quoted from a press release.
  • Dispute mediation. player cases worked directly with operators, with outcomes documented publicly.
  • A public byline. Tenure date, area of responsibility and a full archive — accountability you can check.

My vision

A casino guide is only worth reading if it would tell you to walk away from the casino paying it the most. That's the bar I hold us to. Our rankings ignore commission rates completely — and a casino paying us nothing routinely outranks one paying us hundreds per signup.

My goal is simple: that an Australian player can trust a VegasPokie verdict the way they'd trust advice from a mate who actually reads the terms. Gambling should be safe and responsible first, entertaining second. I'm always happy to hear from readers — drop me a line.
